This is one of the most difficult flavours to make, because grapefruit juice is lacking in fibre and you need a large amount of juice to release the full aroma - just think that 60% of grapefruit juice goes into just 1 kilo of gelato! We are sure, though, that when you try this sorbet you will enjoy such a great sensation of freshness and delicacy that your smile alone will repay all the work we put in to making it!
The grapefruit is a citrus that comes from India, and it is especially delicious thanks to its harmonious flavor, which is sweet, slightly sour and bitter. It ripens in the second half of winter, and it can be easily found on the market until early May. For this reason we like to suggest it as an alternative to the mandarin, with which it has in common the peculiarity of being an excellent source of vitamin C.
Yes, you read correctly. Just as you would do, we chose to make our sorbets and Sicilian granita with water from "Sparea®" Springs. This water is born in a unique niche in the Piedmontese Alps and is extremely light and pure - ideal for accompanying the fruit from the organic farm, Mura Mura®. We are a little crazy… but you can certainly taste the difference!
